Travis Flores is an activist, philanthropist, actor, and children’s book author. He is also an adult with CF who has had two lung transplants and is currently waiting to be listed for his third. In this moving and inspirational presentation, he talks about how to find and maintain happiness in the face of all the obstacles that life with CF throws in his way. In this presentation, Nadia Islam, PhD, a clinical psychologist at the Pediatric Center in Henrico, VA, gives a comprehensive overview about Motivational Interviewing (MI) as an approach to improve treatment adherence and motivate behavior change in individuals with CF. She introduces practical MI skills including reflective listening, emotion validation, and collaborative problem-solving.
